Starting New Year's Day, I'll be giving away "FREE" 16x20 inch canvas paintings like the one above. All you have to do is buy a larger canvas painting. Some of my larger canvas paintings have a "Buy It Now" button where you can simply purchase it immediately, or you can place the first bid and wait for the end of the auction period.  You can view the "free" paintings on Flickr.  They'll be marked "free 16x20" in the remarks section below the painting.  When someone requests one of the free paintings after buying another canvas painting, the "free" will disappear letting you know that it is no longer available.  It's a first come, first served deal.  You can visit ebay to see what's up for grabs. Good Luck to everyone.
PS Just contact me thru ebay or here to annouce your choice. If two or more people pick the same paint, I'll break the tie with a drawing.

Exploring Abstraction: The Trail of Tears.

I'm calling this short entry "The Trail of Tears". Why? Well, that's how I feel about exploring abstraction. It eludes me like the soft whispers of the summer breeze that kisses my face.  I can never seem to get to a point where I feel I have expressed myself.  My other paintings (style) is my imagination seen through color, light, shadow and shape formed by placing color haphazardly.  My usual style is easier for me to grasp because it's what I see brought to focus from paint that I throw about the canvas.  Abstraction exists before I start, and I must learn to read its language.

Here are two paintings that I leave for your inspection. Comments are always welcome.

Bridging the Gap: A lesson in Communication

Just finish this canvas over the weekend. I've posted it on eBay. I'm hoping that I'll get a few more done so I can go buy some more canvas this weekend.

It's getting close to Christmas.  I hope you've done all of your shopping.  My wife bought me a camcorder.  Guess what I am going to do with it.  Yes, that's right.  I'll do some paintings in progress type videos.  Yes Kim; it's coming soon.  Any way Merry Christmas to all of my family, friends and art lovers!
